It is a homecoming for Western Sydney Wanderers loanee Terry Antonis who grew up in the suburb of Bankstown.
Antonis is coming back from Greek side PAOK where he managed four games last season and just one game on loan to Veria at the beginning of this campaign.
The 23-year-old enjoyed 69 games for Sydney FC over five years and could face his former club as early as next week.
He may even feature in this Friday’s game against Melbourne City away and admitted it was a good feeling being back home.
“It’s good to be back in Australia and especially back playing for the Wanderers, it’s a good opportunity for me, I was born out west,” Antonis said.

“Locally I played for Marconi, local club St Christopher, all my life been playing out west.
“I came back, I want to help the boys as much as I can to give to the team…. I feel alright (physically), but I’ve got to build myself up, see where the coaching staff know when I’m ready and we’ll go from there.”
Despite the little game time Antonis received in Greece, he said he had matured in his return to his home town.
The youngster will remain in the West until the conclusion of the 2016/17 A-League season.
He said he was excited to be reunited with coach Tony Popovic who has previous experience mentoring Antonis as an assistant for Sydney FC 2010-2011.

“I learned a lot going over there… especially going to PAOK, a big club going over there. Played some matches and for me I came back to work with Popa a great coaching staff,” he said.
“The Wanderers are a good club… when the opportunity came to come back, for five months I wanted to come back.
“He’s a good coach, worked him with before, but not as a head coach, but I’ve learned a lot from him in the past.
“I know in the future I’ll learn more, so to work under him is a great experience for me and I know I’ll learn a lot and the next five months will be great for me.”
