Western Sydney Wanderers midfielder Terry Antonis says the spotkick handed to FC Seoul in Tuesday’s 3-2 AFC Champions League (ACL) defeat “wasn’t a penalty”.
Scott Neville was adjudged to have brought down Mauro Pontes Junior inside the box for the 42nd minute penalty converted by Dejan Damjanovic to make it 2-0.
While the contact appeared soft, replays showed it occurred outside the box, leaving Wanderers frustrated.
“We were unlucky at the start with the goal they scored and then the penalty,” Antonis told Fox Sports.
“I thought it wasn’t a penalty. It’s one of those games where we played well but we were just unlucky.
“We’ve still got to keep going and think positive and win as many games as we can.”

Wanderers are all but eliminated from the ACL now, needing two massive wins from their remaining two games to have any hope of progressing.
“It’s a disappointing result and we’ve got to keep our heads up and keep going,” Antonis said.
