ALVARO Arbeloa believes Spain are failing to make the most of his Liverpool team-mate Fernando Torres.
The 23-year-old Torres has enjoyed a spectacular first season in England, netting 33 competitive goals following his big-money move from Atletico Madrid last summer.
Fans in Spain will hope he can reproduce that form in Austria and Switzerland despite only netting once for Spain in over a year, but Arbeloa insists Spain's tactics mean it will be difficult for Torres to show his best.
He told a press conference at the Spanish camp: "It's clear that the national team has a way of playing that surely isn't the one that favours him most, even with most stunning system.
"Our style of football clearly isn't the best for him."
However, he did add: "But Torres is one of the best forwards in the world and he'll show that in Euro 2008."
Arbeloa, who along with Torres makes up a group of five players in the Spanish squad who play in the English Premier League, also believes that having players in the group with experience of playing outside of Spain will be a benefit to the national side.
"We're a group of players who play in England and we all know the style there," he continued.
"It's much more physical but that means that we are much more complete as a national team."
Spain play their first game of the tournament against Russia on June 10, before facing Sweden and Greece in Group D.
