EXCLUSIVE: With Victory's slim finals hopes hanging by a thread talisman Archie Thompson says he's hoping more goals come from other parts of the Melbourne team.

“I feel like I've been playing the best football that I've played in a long time," he said.
"The only problem has been that I haven't been getting the rewards for it - I would have loved to be putting the ball in the back of the net a lot more times than I have.
“You also have to remember that there are another 10 players on the pitch as well. The strikers job is to score goals but you also hope that the team can knick a goal through midfield or one of our wide men can score a goal."
He added: “I think [Adrian] Caceres has done that a couple of times this year.
"So it shouldn't be down to just one man. But I don't think we doing enough through the middle as maybe other teams have been doing."
Thompson's form has hit a late season purple patch with two goals in the last two games as the side has enjoyed consecutive wins on the road.
It takes his total to date to six goals this campaign - last season, he hit 15 goals.
“I'm just hoping to impress the new Socceroo coach in the games that we have left and looking forward to Asia with the Victory," Thompson added.
