Ossie Ardiles has been sacked as coach of Paraguayan giants Cerro Porteno.
The Asuncion team are winless in the Clausura after three rounds and the goalless draw at Sportivo Luqueno was the final straw for the board, who agreed to pay $US75,000 compensation to the 56-year-old.
The Tottenham legend and 1978 World Cup winner arrived at the club in April to succeed Javier Torrente.
He coached the team in 12 games, nine of them in the past Apertura tournament, and recorded five wins, four draws and three defeats.
Another Argentinian boss, Pedro Troglio, is reported to head the list of candidates to succeed Ardiles.
