The 28-year-old stopper is currently starring with Sydney Olympic in the NSW Premier League.

He played a starring role on the weekend in Olympic’s 2-0 win away to Blacktown Demons.

“He was outstanding, particularly in the second half. He’s two steps quicker and has that quicker speed of thought than most players at this level,” his coach, former Dutch Eredivisie and Olyroo star, Milan Blagojevic, told au.fourfourtwo.com.

Zunino underwent a knee reconstruction last season and combined with a disappointing season for Olympic, the player flew under the radar. But this campaign he’s been injury-free and shown his full potential.

“He has a real football mind and can anticipate things well. I believe he can make the step up to the A-League," said Blagojevic.

The Argentine was brought to Australia two years ago after a spell in the Italian Serie B. He initially played for Parramatta before signing with Olympic.

However, things have not been so rosy for the club’s Jordanian national team striker Siraj Al-Tall.

Olympic is still waiting for the Jordanian FA to rubber stamp the player’s International Transfer Clear (ITC) some two months after he agreed to join the club.

The matter has now gone to FIFA and Blagojevic is frustrated for the player and the club, who’ve lost striker Matt Mayora to suspension.

“It’s been a joke," Blagojevic said. "Unfortunately he can’t even train with us. With Matt and Paul Wither out, he’d have been ideal as cover. The Jordanian FA are not releasing the ITC even though the timeframe has been and gone.

“It will put off clubs who want to deal with West Asian clubs. It’s especially discouraging and he’s terribly upset. He’s adamant he has no contract back in Jordan.”
