The 26-year-old has been named among the substitutes for Tacuary's game against Olimpia in the Clausura.

Gonzalez, who was part of the Paraguayan national team which claimed silver at the 2004 Olympic Games, was involved in a car crash in December 2005.

He was playing for Italian side Vicenza at the time, following a promising career in his homeland.

He also had a short spell at Argentinian outfit Huracan.

Gonzalez is prepared to play without the artificial arm he has had fitted.

He said: "I've spent too many difficult moments in my life, but I have never gave up believing in God, who is now giving me the possibility to do what I like most - playing football."

Tacuary are sixth in the Clausura table, having collected 24 points so far.
