Graham Arnold expects a reaction from the Socceroos after their loss to Jordan and is expecting his players "to come out and fight" against Palestine.
Australia are rock bottom of Group B after their opening 1-0 defeat to Jordan.
That shock result has the Socceroos hurting, according to the head coach.
"I expect a reaction," Arnold said. "There were a lot of good things in the Jordan game. Obviously they parked the bus and made it hard for us but there was a lot of good stuff that we showed.
"I've seen the hurt after the game and I've seen the motivation. They're on the edge, they're ready to go. It's all about a reaction."
Australia meets Palestine on Friday and The Lions of Canaan are on a high after their 0-0 draw with Syria.
Arnold wants to see more desire, more determination and spirit from his squad.
"This next game we've got to come out and fight," he said. "The first part of it in a football match is the football quality where we've got the edge over that but it's about the fight as well.
"We've got to show the same desire (as Palestine). Match that fight and then we'll win the football game."
