Mierzejewski impressed as the Sky Blues cruised past FFA Cup holders Melbourne City 2-0 on Wednesday in the quarter-finals.

The 40-time Poland international midfielder played his part in both goals for Sydney.

“That’s about 40 per cent of what I’ve seen,” said Arnold, referring to Mierzejewski.

“He’s just a wonderful player and he works extremely hard defensively as well, but even he admits he’s not fit yet.

"He’s nowhere near his best.”

Mierzejewski linked up with fellow new signing Luke Wilkshire on the right flank, with that relationship likely to develop.

"It was a good start. It's only the start and there's so much improvement left in the team," Arnold said.

“The whole right hand side is new with Wilkshire and Adrian and when they get more settled with each other, then we'll get greater and greater.

“Luke just showed what a fantastic player he still is, his experience on how he deals with situations in the game and his versatility."

Meanwhile, Arnold said Alex Brosque and Michael Zullo were 'fine' despite both being forced off with injury.

“Both Brosque and Zullo are fine, they just rolled their ankles, they'll be fine," he said.
