Graham Arnold is nonplussed by Kuwait's 7-0 obliteration of Nepal last week ahead of the Socceroos' opening 2022 World Cup qualifier.
The Blues are leading the charge for a berth in Qatar in three years time after 7-0 demolition of qualifying Group B's South Asian battlers Nepal last Thursday.
But Australia coach Arnold isn't intimidated ahead of their qualifier at Al Kuwait Sports Club Stadium at 6:30pm on Tuesday (1:30am AEST on Wednesday).
He says last Thursday's scoreline says a lot more about the losers' weaknesses than Kuwait's strengths.
"It's a confidence booster for them but we focus more on ourselves, we focus on what we do," he told AAP.
"To be honest it's (the focus has) always been 75-25 - 75 per cent us and 25 per cent the opposition.
"It was hard to take something out of that game because Nepal didn't have their greatest night, but we've got to be ready for everything and anything, and we will be."
Kuwait coach Romeo Jozak conceded that Nepal had been an easier game than he expected given the Himalayan's performances in friendlies earlier this year.
"I'm not that happy about the three points, obviously I am, but you always wait for this date, the first qualifier. Everybody wants to see how good we were and for us there were a lot of questions answered," the Croatian said.
"Yes it's (Tuesday's qualifier is) a different game. Australia have the fitness and they will keep up the intensity the whole match. We have to be very aware of that."
Arnold indicated his expectation was for Kuwait to play more conservatively against his side.
But he said drilling the Socceroos in tactics in Dubai over the weekend would ensure parking the bus would be a very risky option for the hosts.
The coach also emphasized that the tourists were targeting all three points rather than settling with sharing the spoils.
"We'll be ready for both (Kuwait) plans, if they play more expansive that's great and if they don't and they play more of a packed defence that's also great because we've got a game plan for both, he said.
"As I said before, these type of games, in and around them, is mentality and attitude, and making sure you do everything right to win the game."
