Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has challenged his fringe players to take their chance in the Carling Cup quarter-final with Premier League leaders Manchester City at Emirates Stadium tomorrow.
Wenger has confirmed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Emmanuel Frimpong will play, while Yossi Benayoun and Park Ju-young could come into contention.
Midfielder Abou Diaby is a doubt with a muscle injury suffered in Saturday's Premier league draw with Fulham.
Wenger told Arsenal Player: "I will rest some players, but I still want to play a team that has a chance to win the game."
Wenger is keen to make up for last season when his team lost in the Carling Cup final to Birmingham.
He added: "Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Emmanuel Frimpong will play, but I consider them to be first-team players.
"Park is adapting to the level he is facing here and he has another opportunity against Manchester City tomorrow night to show that he can do it.
"Yossi has been absolutely fantastic, but we have so much choice in midfield and we play with three strikers. The chances for the midfielders are not so big and that is why he has not played as much as he deserves."
Manchester City left-back Gael Clichy is waiting to see if he features against Arsenal after playing in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool yesterday.
Clichy said: "That is up to the manager and you have to accept his decision, but of course I am ready and if asked to play I will be more than happy to."
The former Arsenal defender added: "I don't need to speak about Arsenal, it is a great club, a great team with many of my friends there."
Liverpool defender Jose Enrique is determined to do his best as his side face Chelsea but is not happy with the club's busy schedule.
The Reds face Chelsea just over two days after a 1-1 draw with Manchester City and Enrique is not happy with the quick resumption of action.
The left-back said: "If the manager decides I have to play I play. The Premier League and Football League didn't make a good decision.
"We played on Sunday and have to play in another 48 hours, whereas Chelsea played on Saturday. This is not normal. It just happens in England."
There is a quick return to Stamford Bridge for Liverpool after their 2-1 win at Chelsea the previous weekend.
Manager Kenny Dalglish has Maxi Rodriguez, Andy Carroll, Craig Bellamy, Jamie Carragher and Martin Kelly available, none of whom started against Manchester City.
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas is likely to make a number of changes to his team as Romelu Lukaku, Josh McEachran and Salomon Kalou could start, while Fernando Torres may get a chance to start up front against his former club.
John Terry's yellow card against Wolves means he misses tomorrow's game through suspension, Raul Meireles is cup-tied, and long-term knee injury victim Michael Essien is also unavailable.
Premier League bottom side Blackburn face a difficult trip to Cardiff who are currently third in the Championship.
Midfielder David Dunn is available after he served a one-match suspension, while full-back Michel Salgado could make his comeback from a hamstring problem.
But injured defenders Christopher Samba and Martin Olsson (both hamstring) and Ryan Nelsen (knee) miss the tie.
Cardiff manager Malky Mackay will check on the fitness of Mark Hudson and Rudy Gestede after missing the last two games with hamstring problems.
Mackay has no new injury problems as his side bid to extend an eight-match unbeaten run in all competitions.
In the fourth tie, to be played at old Trafford on Wednesday, Manchester United take on Crystal Palace.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson might be tempted to rest star names but a clash with a Palace side earning praise for the way they are playing under manager Dougie Freedman could provide a cup shock.
