Giroud was the star of the show in easy win for Arsene Wenger's men, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Chuba Akpom and Ignasi Miquel also finding the net, Tran Manh Dung netting a consolation for the hosts at the My Dinh National Stadium.

Wenger named a strong starting eleven which included the likes of Giroud, Lukas Podolski and Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Arsenal wasted little time in the second game of their tour of Asia, Giroud latching on to a clever ball over the top from Tomas Rosicky to power a volley towards goal which Vietnam keeper Duong Hong Son could only deflect onto the inside of the post and into the net.

Podolski had a goal disallowed for offside after 25 minutes, but Giroud continued to be clinical in front of goal, netting with a curling effort after 44 minutes before collecting a superb pass from Oxlade-Chamberlain to loft home his third before the interval.

Oxlade Chamberlain turned from provider to goalscorer just after the break, increasing Arsenal's advantage with a long-range effort of his own.

Substitute Akpom made it five after 56 minutes, slotting past Son following a clever ball from Aaron Ramsey, and just three minutes later he tapped in the sixth at the end of a clever move between Oxlade-Chamberlain and midfielder Gedion Zelalem.

Vietnam were able to stem the tide briefly, but they could not prevent Arsenal from adding a seventh, Miquel thumping home after good work down the left from Thomas Eisfeld.

The hosts were given something to cheer about 12 minutes before the end, Dung volleying past substitute keeper Damian Martinez.
