Bert van Marwijk has named his final 23 man squad for Russia 2018 – and included an attack-heavy line up featuring teen prodigy Daniel Arzani.
Veteran Tim Cahill has made the final cut at the age of 38 (literally twice the age of 19 year old Arzani) for his record fourth World Cup while fly-in striker Jamie Maclaren has made the squad despite initially being omitted.
Injury doubt striker Tomi Juric has also made the final 23, as to has Andrew Nabbout after his goal against Czechia in Friday night's 4-0 win.
Dimi Petratos will also be in Russia as part of an aggressive front-facing squad that gives the Dutch coach plenty of options in attack.
Missing the cut and heading home to watch the World Cup on TV are Josh Brillante, James Troisi, Fran Karacic and Nikita Rukavytsya.
“I have been very pleased with the effort and application of all of the players during our time in Turkey, and in Austria” said van Marwijk.
“Every step of the selection process has been difficult because the players have all given everything to make the final selection.
“However, considering many factors, we have now settled on our final squad for Russia."
He added: "I believe this group of players can do Australia proud at the world’s biggest football tournament if we continue to work collectively and intensively over the next two weeks and into the competition.”
