Football Federation Australia have announced Daniel Arzani as the January nominee for the A-League NAB Young Footballer of the Year Award.
This is the first time that Australian youth international Arzani has been nominated for the accolade.
The versatile 19-year-old joins Melbourne City teammate Bruce Kamau (October), Central Coast Mariners ace Daniel De Silva (November), as well as Newcastle Jets flyer Joseph Champness (December) in the running to take home the prestigious award when it is presented at the Dolan Warren Awards Night later this year.
During January 2018 Arzani featured in six matches for Melbourne City FC. Arzani’s performances helped Warren Joyce’s side secure three wins and two draws, and he also notched his maiden A-League goal from the penalty spot against Newcastle in round 18.
The teen also made two goal assists throughout January and earned the plaudits of supporters and media alike as he impressed with his classy and exciting, attacking bursts.
Arzani’s nominated junior club will receive a NAB Club Recognition Award, which includes a range of equipment, along with $1,000.
The overall winner will receive a $10,000 personal investment portfolio, along with a NAB private client manager to assist with a range of banking products and services.
Each month representatives from the FFA technical department vote on a 3-2-1 basis for the most outstanding U-23 players in the A-League during that period.
