Central Coast defender Harry Ascroft has laughed off his goal celebration fail which left team-mate Jake McGing clutching for his mouth.
Ascroft opened the scoring in Central Coast’s 2-0 win over Perth Glory on Thursday night, before racing off to the right corner to celebrate with the home fans.
The defender raised his arms to encourage the crowd to celebrate, but inadvertently elbowed McGing as his team-mates flocked to him.
The incident caught the attention of plenty of observers who took to social media, along with Fox Sports’ Shootout panel.
Ascroft and McGing are central defensive partners and room together on away trips, so he was one team-mate who’d cop it well.
However, the Mariners revealed on social media that Ascroft potentially suffered more damage, with a bite mark in his right arm.

“Any publicity is good publicity,” Ascroft said. “It went pretty viral.
“It’s pretty funny because he’s my room mate, we laugh about it now.
"It’s all good.”
