EUGENE Galekovic is battling against the clock as he waits to see whether his muscle strain eases sufficiently to allow him to face Bunyodkor on Wednesaday night.
The abductor strain flared up during a training session last week and it forced the keeper to miss Adelaide's 1-0 win at Queensland Roar on Friday night.
He told the Adelaide Advertiser: "It's a day-to-day thing. Until I start running and do a bit of side movement, I really don't know how bad it is."
Adelaide's medical staff are working overtime to try and speed his recovery with the player restricted to very light duties as the team prepares for the ACL semi-final second leg.
If he doesn't make it in time then 17-year-old Mark Birgighitti will be thrown into the cauldron but he should have been boosted by a clean sheet in his debut match against Roar.
