FOOTBALL Federation Australia will today formally hand over its bid to host the 2015 Asian Cup to the Asian Football Confederation after a delayed process.
The ceremony will take place at AFC headquarters in Kuala Lumpur with FFA Chairman Frank Lowy and Chief Executive Ben Buckley scheduled to hand over the bid book to AFC President Mohamed Bin Hammam at 9am Kuala Lumpur time, reports the AFC official website.
Australia are the only bidding nation for the 2015 Asian Cup but the final decision won't be announced until next January at the 2011 Asian Cup in Qatar.
In January, the AFC granted the FFA an extension to "continue discussions with various levels of the Australian government and other stakeholders to formalise the relevant guarantees and facility agreements".
The two FFA powerbrokers have been busy in recent days chaperoning FIFA officials in Australia for a technical inspection tour of facilities ahead of the December decision on hosting rights for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
