Following the Roos' 1-0 friendly win over Paraguay, the side's leading lights were all buzzing and speaking in positive tones rarely heard in the dour, safety first Pim Verbeek regime.

There may have only been one goal to show for it but Osieck, in his first match on home soil, showed his intent to attack, playing with two men up front and urging those behind to support at every opportunity.

That a fullback - Blackpool's out-of-favour defender David Carney - lashed home the winner on 53 minutes underlined Osieck's attacking policy.

Carney is certainly among the disciples after a two win-one draw start to the Osieck era.

"It's looking good for the future," the goal scorer said.

"When you've got support up front - when you have one or two or three options when you get the ball - it's a great feeling. There's a lot to look forward to."

Goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, who wore the captain's armband against Paraguay, is another fan of Osieck's attacking philosophy.

"He's brought a different look," the veteran custodian said. "He's very enthusiastic and that's been brought across to the players."

Harry Kewell added: "There is a different feel. We created a lot of opportunities and it's all very positive."

Striker Josh Kennedy, who formed a two-man attacking unit with Tim Cahill, predicts greater success in the future once Osieck's system - and the players within it - is bedded down.

"We showed what might be possible...what we might be able to achieve with two up front," the lanky forward said.

Meanwhile, Carney is hoping his goal may prove the springboard for a turn of fortune at Blackpool.

The attacking left back has played just one match off the bench for the Seasiders
under manager Ian Holloway, leading him to joke he would be bragging about his international goal in the hope of impressing the boss

"Hopefully he's seen it (the goal) but if he doesn't I'll bring a CD in for him and show him," Carney said.

"To get a game for Blackpool, I think I'm going to have to do that. Hopefully I will get a chance soon."
