Dukuly, 21, signed for Stade de Reims 18 months ago, as part of the package deal which took Reds teammate Mohamed Toure to the same club.

Fringe Socceroos striker Toure made his senior debut before being loaned out to Ligue 2 Paris FC, whilst Tukuly, 21, has played all his football thus far for Reims B and is believed to be open to an A-League return.

After the loss of wide players Craig Goodwin and Bernardo Oliveira, the eighth-placed Reds are looking for reinforcements to bolster their playoff prospects, and are understood to be looking to repatriate Guinea-born Dukuly on a permanent deal.

It’s unclear, at this point, whether Reims - or the player himself - might prefer to take up a loan option.

In any event, it appears likely a homecoming is on the cards for the player who began his professional career at Melbourne City without ever cracking the senior team.

He made the switch to Adelaide in 2020, making 14 appearances and scoring once before heading to France.

Still developing, Dukuly may view a homecoming as a chance to re-set and re-evaluate after not making the progress he would have hoped for in the hothouse of French football.
