Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate will be without first-choice goalkeeper Brad Jones for the home Carling Cup clash with Yeovil tomorrow night.
The Australian dislocated a finger during the warm-up at Liverpool on Saturday and was replaced by Ross Turnbull. Southgate is likely to choose between Turnbull and youngster Jason Steele for the second-round clash at the Riverside Stadium.
Mido is likely to start in attack, while there could be a full debut for Justin Hoyte, and the manager will hope Andrew Taylor and David Wheater shake off minor knocks suffered in the 2-1 defeat at Anfield.
Provisional squad: Turnbull, Steele, Wheater, Hoyte, Huth, Pogatetz, Williams, Taylor, Grounds, Aliadiere, Emnes, O'Neil, Shawky, Digard, Downing, Johnson, Walker, Tuncay, Alves, Mido.
