Australian football fans have bought more tickets for the World Cup than their English, French and Spanish counterparts, according to figures released by FIFA.
Since going on sale nine months ago, in September, more than 2.4 million tickets have been sold for the event. Aussie fans have accounted for over 36,000 of those.
"Most sales have gone to Russian fans", the governing body wrote on its website, adding that "international demand accounts for 54%."
Today, a further 100,000 tickets were released to the public on a first-come, first serve basis.
The Socceroos will fly out to Kazan, their training base for the tournament, following their final warm-up game against Hungary in Budapest on Sunday.
They face France in Kazan in their opening match on 16 June at 8pm (AEST), before tackling Denmark in Samara and Peru in Sochi.
