Former Melbourne City goalkeeper Yaren Sozer has signed a professional contract with Turkish Super Lig club Istanbul Basaksehir.
The 21-year-old Australia youth international has joined the club on a two-year deal with the option of a third season.
Istanbul Basaksehir have immediately loaned Sozer to Turkish third tier club Erokspor to gain experience.
The Istanbul-based club have become contenders in the Turkish top flight since their promotion in 2014, finishing fourth in both 2014-15 and 2015-16, before being runners-up in 2016-17.
Basaksehir qualified for the 2018-19 Europa League after finishing third in the 2017-18 campaign, behind the club who Sozer supported as a child, Galatasaray, and Fenerbahce.

The Australian-born goalkeeper, who has Turkish heritage, has played National Youth League (NYL) football with City in recent years.
Sozer was the starting goalkeeper in City's 3-2 NYL Grand Final triumph over Sydney FC in 2016-17.
He was an unused substitute as City lost the 2017-18 NYL decider in extra-time 3-1 to Western Sydney.
The youngster also spent time with Pascoe Vale FC in the NPL Victoria earlier this season.
