Clean sheets, wins and goals… it’s been a successful weekend for Australians in the Eredivisie, in particular rising star Ajdin Hrustic.
Hrustic, 20, was recently part of a development squad camp in Spain for future Socceroos and the former South Melbourne junior showed why he’s so highly rated by Australia's coaching staff.
Just 13 minutes after coming off the bench for Groningen, the ex Schalke and Notts Forest youth player opened his account for his new Dutch club in the final minutes of a 5-1 mauling of PEC Zwolle.

Groningen moved onto 36 points in tenth spot.
Aussie World Cup defender Jason Davidson also played a full game for Groningen to top off a Super Sunday for the Green and Gold.

Meanwhile, league leaders Feyenoord won 2-0 at the De Kuip on Sunday with former Caltex Socceroo keeper Brad Jones keeping another clean sheet for the title hopefuls over FC Utrecht.
With Ajax also winning on Saturday – a thumping 5-1 triumph over NEC Nijmegen - Feyenoord’s noses remain just ahead of their rivals from Amsterdam by just a point.
