Australian forward Anthony Carter has left Portugese giants Benfica and signed for LigaPro club Académico de Viseu.
Carter joined Benfica in January 2018 on a four and half year deal, but never made a first-team appearance for the Eagles.
The forward scored one goal in 13 games for Benfica B and managed two goals in seven matches for the club's Under-23s.
But now the Melbournian has landed at Portguese second division side Académico de Viseu on a two-year contract.
Carter grew up in Dandenong before departing for Europe at the age of 16.
The striker spent four years with Romanian club CFR Cluj, before switching to Portugal with Trofense in 2016.
The 24-year-old's exploits wth Trofense, where he banged in 20 goals in 42 appearances, earned him his move to Benfica.
