The visitors had made the perfect start through Daan Bovenberg on the 10 minute mark before Charlton Vicento equalised for Den Haag, 15 minutes before the break.

Fellow Aussie Michael Zullo replaced Tommy Oar at the interval and it wasn’t long before the Socceroo was amongst the action. Zullo forced Gino Coutinho into a save, seven minutes into the second half but were made to pay eight minutes later.

Den Haag midfielder Lex Immers put the home side ahead in the 60th minute but a 80th minute penalty from Leon de Kogel ensured Utrecht returned home with a share of the points. Adam Sarota did not make it off the bench.

Neil Kilkenny’s Bristol City made it four games unbeaten with a 2-1 win away to Millwall at The Den. Socceroo Neil Kilkenny set up Nicky Maynard for his first goal in the 14th minute and Maynard went on to net the winner in the 63rd minute. Bristol City entertain table-topping Southampton next weekend.

Socceroo Mile Jedinak and his Crystal Palace side suffered their second successive defeat, a 3-0 loss to Leicester City. After a scoreless first half, the Foxes turned on the style, netting three goals in 20 minutes. Palace are now level on points with Leicester in the Npower Championship.

In the Russian Premier League, Socceroo Luke Wilkshire picked up a 42nd minute yellow card in Dinamo Moscow’s 2-1 win over Kuban at the Arena Khimki. First half goals from Igor Semshow and Aleksandr Kokorin set Dinamo on their way to all three points and now sit only one point behind second placed CSKA Moscow.

In Japan, Eddy Bosnar gave Shimizu S-Pulse a 44th minute lead before Kashiwa Reysol eventually prevailed 2-1 to leapfrog Nagoya Grampus into top spot. Former Sydney FC forward, Alex Brosque also put in a full shift for the hosts.

Across in Japan’s second division, Mark Milligan was shown two yellows in the space of two minutes as JEF United suffered a 1-0 defeat away to Tokyo Verdy. The Socceroo saw red in the 69th minute and will now miss the clash against fellow Aussie Jade North and his championship winning side, Tokyo FC.

Over in Denmark where Brent McGrath played 66 minutes before being withdrawn for Thomas Rasmussen who went on to net the 80th minute winner in Brondby’s 2-1 victory at home to Copenhagen. Brondby are now five points clear of the relegation zone.

Elsewhere, Nathan Coe’s SonderjyskE remain winless in their last three games after going down 2-0 to Nordsjaelland at Farum Park. A double from Mikkel Beckmann helped close the gap on Copenhagen to four points.
