UK 

In the English Premier League Aaron Mooy and Mat Ryan played 90 minutes as Brighton & Hove Albion came up against rampant league leaders Liverpool. Brighton went down 2-0 in the first half and wrestled a goal back after Liverpool's keeper was sent off. 

Mooy and Ryan now sit just three points above the relegation spots in the Premier League. 

In the Championship Massimo Luongo played 13 minutes off the bench for Sheffield Wednesday as they defeated Charlton Athletic 3-1 away from home. Wednesday are well within the playoff spots despite their first win since October. 

Bailey Wright dropped out of Bristol City's squad this week as they defeated Huddersfield Town 5-2. Jackson Irvine played a full 90 and Callum Elder 76 minutes as Hull City suffered a disappointing 3-1 loss to Barnsley. Kenny Dougall had a short spell out of the side as an unused substitute. 

In Scotland Tom Rogic was on the scoresheet for Celtic for the first time in the Scottish Premiership in more than a year as they defeated Ross County 4-1, while Oliver Bozanic played 90 minutes for Hearts on the receiving end of a 5-0 loss to Rangers. 

Martin Boyle played 19 minutes off the bench for Hibernian as they drew 2-2 with Kilmarnock.

In League One action Ryan Williams played 78 minutes and got an assist for Portsmouth as they recorded a 3-2 win against Rotherham United, Williams' former club.  Ryan Edwards scored for Burton Albion as they shocked Sunderland at away from home, winning 2-1. 

In the English youth league Ben Folami was absent from Ipswich Town U23s as they lost 1-0 at home to Bristol City U23. Caleb Watts played an hour for Southampton U23 as they beat Brighton 2-1 away from home. 

In the FA Cup Harry Souttar played a full match for Fleetwood Town as they progressed to the next stage, beating Crawley Town 2-1. 

EUROPE

In the UEFA Champions League good fortune has been hard to come by for Milos Degenek and Red Star Belgrade who have been denied a knockout place after a 4-0 loss to Tottenham. Red Star must get a result against Olympiacos next week to make the Europa League knockouts. 

In the UEFA Europa League Aziz Behich came on for an injured teammate in the 16th minute as Basaksehir lost 3-0 to AS Roma. Tom Rogic was unused for Celtic as they beat Rennes 3-1 confirming a top-of-the-group finish with one game to spare. James Holland played 90 minutes as LASK beat Rosenborg 2-1 

In Germany Mathew Leckie was absent due to an ongoing injury for Hertha Berlin as they lost 2-1 at home to Borussia Dortmund. Brandon Borrello was an unused sub for SC Freiburg as they lost 4-2 away to Borussia Mönchengladbach. 

Noah Botic was absent from Hoffenheim U19s squad as they beat Mainz 2-1. Christian Theoharous was unused while Jacob Italiano played half an hour off the bench for Borussia II in their 1-1 draw with FC Koln II. 

In Denmark Mustafa Amini was the hero for AGF as he scored a 90th minute winner in a 2-1 win against Esbjerg. Zach Duncan and Alex Gersbach were both unused. Awer Mabil was also on the scoresheet for FC Midtjylland in a 2-1 win over OB earlier in the week. 

In Austria Jimmy Jeggo was dropped to the bench and came on in the 62nd minute as Austria Wien beat Hartberg 5-0 at home. In a surprise loss, James Holland's LASK went down 4-0 at home to Rapid Wien with the Aussie playing a full match.

In the Netherlands Ajdin Hrustic played 90 minutes for FC Groningen as they suffered a 1-0 loss away to Fortuna Sittard. Dylan Ryan was on the bench for Willem II as they defeated Sparta Rotterdam 4-0 at home. Olyroos striker Daniel Bouman was an unused sub for SC Cambuur as they beat Jong AZ 3-1. 

In Serbia Milos Degenek played 90 minutes as Red Star Belgrde beat FK Vozvodac 2-0 while in Turkey 

In Croatia Fran Karacic was absent for NK Lokomotiv Zagreb in their 4-0 win over HNK Gorica. 

In Israel Nikita Rukavytsya scored again while Trent Sainsbury played 90 minutes for Maccabi Haifa in a 3-0 win away to Hapoel Hadera. 

In Cyprus Apostolos Giannou played 79 minutes for AEK Larnaca as they lost 2-1 at home to Anorthosis. 

ASIA & AFRICA

In Japan Ange Postecoglou is one result away from winning the J-League title after Yokohama F Marinos smashed Kawasaki Frontale 4-1. 

Ange faces their title contenders FC Tokyo in the final game but would have to lose by a significant margin of seven goals to lose the title. 

Mitchell Langerak played a full match for Nagoya Grampus however they went down 2-1 to Jubilo Iwata. 

In South Korea Adam Taggart and Terry Antonis played a full match as Suwon Bluewings were humbled 4-1 by Sangju Sangmu. Rashid Mahazi played 90 minutes for Incheon United as they drew 0-0 with Gyeongnam. Bernie Ibini was an unused sub for Jeonbuk in a 1-0 win at home to Gangwon FC. 

Adam Taggart finished the K-League season with the Golden Boot after scoring 20 goals throughout the season. 

In India Erik Paartalu played 90 minutes for Bengalurru as they were pegged back in the 90th minute, settling for a 1-1 draw with Hyderabad. David Williams played a full game while Dario Vidosic and Eli Babalj were absent for ATK needed Roy Krishna to save a point in a 2-2 draw with Mumbai City. 

In South Africa Kearyn Baccus started and played 86 minutes for Kaizer Chiefs as they romped home to a 4-0 win against Stellenbosch.
