AUSSIES ABROAD: In-form Socceroo Brett Holman provided the assist for AZ Alkmaar's second goal in the 2-0 win over ADO Den Haag overnight in Holland's Eredivisie.
Holman, who scored in AZ's midweek Europa League 1-1 draw with Sheriff Tiraspol, collected the ball on the right flank before providing a low cross for Maarten Martens to shoot home on 51 minutes.
The Socceroo was replaced on 61 minutes as AZ held out Den Haag for the points, which has fifth-placed Alkmaar five points behind leaders PSV Eindhoven.
Elsewhere in the Netherlands, young Aussie midfielder Adam Sarota was a 77th-minute substitute in FC Utrecht's 2-1 victory over Heerenveen.
Fellow Australian Tommy Oar was an unused sub for Utrecht, while Michael Zullo was not in the squad.
