In Japan's J.League, Joshua Kennedy continued his wonderful season with a strike in Nagoya Grampus' shock 4-1 loss to Albirex Niigata on Saturday.

The big Aussie scored in the first-half with a superb right-foot volleyed shot on the turn inside the box to level the match, before Albirex ran away easy winners.

Kennedy started and played the full 90 minutes for Nagoya, who see their lead at the top of the J.League trimmed to eight points with eight games to play.

The beanpole striker still leads the J.League goalscoring charts with 15 strikes this term.

In Denmark's Superliga, Aussie teenager Brent McGrath scored his first senior goal as Brondby drew 1-1 at FC Nordsjaelland on Sunday.

McGrath pounced inside the box after the Nordsjaelland defence failed to clear a cross, with the Aussie slamming a deflected shot past opposition keeper Jesper Hansen on 30 minutes.

After Nordsjaelland equalised, McGrath almost set up a late winner for Brondby when he squared the ball for Jens Larsen who shot against the post.

The 19-year-old former Sydney United striker started and played the full game for Brondby.

In England's Premier League, Cahill scored Everton's opener in the 2-0 Merseyside victory over Liverpool with a powerful shot on the turn on Sunday. For Liverpool, Brad Jones was an unused sub.
