AUSSIES ABROAD: Socceroo Harry Kewell returned for Galatasaray after the Asian Cup in style by scoring in their 4-2 victory over Eskisehirspor in Turkey's Super Lig on Sunday.
Kewell, who scored three goals in Qatar, was a constant threat in attack for Cimbom and netted their third late in the first-half with a trademark left-foot finish.
Earlier Lorik Cana and Bogdan Stancu had given Galatasaray a 2-0 lead inside the opening quarter of an hour, before Kewell tested Eskisehirspor goalkeeper Atilla Koca with a long-range effort.
Then on 45 minutes, Kewell made it 3-0 by powerfully sweeping home Hakan Balta's low ball from the left flank.
The Australian attacker got great applause from the crowd when he was replaced on 63 minutes by Milan Baros, while fellow Socceroo Lucas Neill - who had started the game - was subbed off on 69 minutes.
Eskisehirspor gave Galatasaray a scare a late on, dragging two goals back through Burhan Eser and Umit Karan, but Baros sealed the victory on 82 minutes.
In England's Premier League, Brett Emerton provided the assist for Jason Roberts' opener as Blackburn lost 4-3 to Wigan on Saturday.
Emerton started and played an hour of the game. Vince Grella was an unused sub for Rovers.
