Despite not keeping a clean sheet, Adam Federici’s Reading maintained their impressive form, beating Leicester City 3-1. They Royals are now level on points with second placed West Ham and only three points behind Southampton with a game in hand.

Neil Kilkenny was left out of the Bristol City squad that suffered a 2-1 home defeat against Cardiff City.

Mile Jedinak completed another full 90 minutes for Crystal Palace in the sides 1-1 draw at Burnley.

Meanwhile, Shane Lowry was forced to sit out Millwall’s 3-1 loss against Nottingham Forest with an ankle injury.

In Scotland, Aaron Mooy’s St.Mirren secured a Scottish Cup quarter-final replay following their 2-2 draw with Hearts at Tynecastle. Ryan McGowan put in a full shift for the home side but Mooy did not feature off the bench. The two sides will meet again on March 21 for a place in the semi-finals.

Tim Cahill’s played the entire match as Everton extended their unbeaten run to seven Premier League games thanks to a narrow 1-0 win over Tottenham at Goodison Park.

At Villa Park, Mark Schwarzer’s late error delivered all three points to Chris Herd’s Aston Villa. The Villa midfielder played 82 minutes before being substituted.

In the Russian Premier League, Luke Wilkshire picked up a 90 minute yellow card in Dinamo Moscow’s 1-1 draw with local city-rivals CSKA. The draw leaves Dinamo third, two points behind second placed CSKA.

In the Bundesliga, Nikita Rukavytsya was rewarded for his goal scoring exploits last week with a full 90 minutes but Hertha Berlin were beaten 1-0 by Cologne at the RheinEnergie Stadion.

Matthew Leckie did not make it off the bench in Borussia Monchengladbach’s goalless draw with lowly Freiburg.

Meanwhile, Mitch Langerak’s Borussia Dortmund were held to a 0-0 draw by Augsburg at the SGL Arena. Despite the draw, the defending champions remain five points clear at the summit.

In the 2.Bundesliga, Robbie Kruse was absent from Fortuna Dusseldorf’s 3-1 triumph over Erzgebirge Aue.

Socceroo Brett Holman played 61 minutes as AZ Alkmaar moved three points clear at the top of Eredivisie table thanks to a 2-0 victory at De Graafschap.

The Aussie trio of Tommy Oar, Adam Sarota, Michael Zullo were all absentees from FC Utrecht’s 1-1 draw at sixth placed Feyenoord. Utrecht are only two points clear of the relegation play-off zone.

In the Turkish Super Lig, neither James Troisi nor Kerem Bulut featured for their respective clubs.

In Italy’s Serie B, Carl Valeri’s Sassuolo are now winless in their last four outings after a scoreless draw with Sampdoria at the Stadio Alberto Braglia.

Nathan Coe returned to take his place in goal but couldn’t prevent SonderjyskE from falling to a 2-0 loss against league leaders and former club FC Copenhagen.

Elsewhere in Demark’s Superliga, Brent McGrath was not apart of the Brondby squad that played out a scoreless draw with Aarhus Gymnastikforening.

Jonas Salley’s debut for Shanghai Shenxin didn’t get off to a winning start, suffering a 2-1 defeat at Guangzhou Evergrande. Antonio Flavio had given the visitors a 19th minute lead before a brace from Dario Conca earned all three points for Jang-Soo Lee’s men.

Mile Sterjovski replaced Hu Zhaojun five minutes before the break but his debut for Dalian Aerbin ended in a 1-0 defeat at Tianjin Teda. Former Adelaide defender Milan Susak was an absentee from the Teda squad.

In the K-League, Nathan Burns will have to wait for his Incheon United debut after missing their 2-0 home loss against Suwon Bluewings through injury. Eddy Bosnar completed a full 90 minutes for the victors.

Sasa Ognenovski played the entire match as Seongnam picked up their first points of the season with a 1-1 draw at home to Sangju Sangmu. Cha-Won Ko had given the visitors a 51st minute lead but a goal deep into injury time from Vladimir Jovancic rescued a point for the home side.

Former Brisbane Roar defender Luke DeVere completed a full game in Gyeongnam’s 2-1 defeat away to Ulsan Hyundai.

Lucas Neil put in a full shift but Caio Junior’s first game in charge of Al Jazira resulted in a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Al Shabab in the Emirates Cup semi-final.

In England’s League One, Alex Cisak’s Oldham Athletic lost their second consecutive home match, going down 2-1 against Yeovil Town. Dean Bouzanis did not make it off the bench while James Wesolowski is still absent with a shoulder injury.

In League Two, Shane Cansdell-Sherriff was an unused substitute in Shrewsbury Town’s 1-0 win over Burton Albion. Shrewsbury sit second on the ladder, eight points behind Swindon Town.
