DARIO Vidosic and Matt Spiranovic's FC Nurnberg face a stern test against a Bayern side bouyed by Oktoberfest.
Bayern Munich will be looking for reasons to celebrate against Nurnberg but the beer will be flowing in Munich this weekend anyway as the annual Oktoberfest gets under way in the city.
This is a time of year when Bayern Munich usually have good reason to celebrate.
Of 73 home games staged during the two-week festival down the years, Bayern have lost only seven, including wins over tomorrow's opponents Nurnberg in each of the last two seasons.
Coach Louis van Gaal wants that run to continue and has therefore warned his players not to over-indulge in the festivities.
"We have three games in a week and regeneration and relaxation are very important for a professional footballer," he said.
"We have a tough schedule, but we have got to ensure that we remain unbeaten during the Oktoberfest."
Only then will Van Gaal, who admits to being a beer abstinent, allow his players to enjoy their customary night out, as long as they have deserved it.
"Our results will only have been fine if we beat Nurnberg, then Rot-Weiss Oberhausen in the DFB-Pokal and then, to round things off next week, win in Hamburg," he said.
After the trip north, Bayern then host Juventus in the Champions League before welcoming Cologne to the Allianz Arena, but despite the tough schedule, Van Gaal expects to largely stick with a winning team.
"I am not a fan of squad rotation," he explained.
That could benefit Thomas Muller, who has scored a brace in each of his last two games.
He is currently keeping Germany international Miroslav Klose on the bench while Italy's World Cup winner Luca Toni is having to play with the reserves to gain match practice.
Nurnberg coach Michael Oenning is likely to stick with the team which won their first game of the season against Borussia Monchengladbach last weekend and he insists they are not travelling to Munich just to make up the numbers.
"My team will be highly motivated and the players are looking forward to proving themselves against extraordinary players," he said.
