HARRY Kewell played the full 90 as Galatasaray drew 1-1 away to Hamburg SV while Michael Beachamp’s Aab took on Manchester City In the UEFA Cup this morning.
Gala took the lead after half an hour through Ayhan Akman but Hamburg equalised early in the second half. Minutes after that equaliser Hamburg's Mladen Petric broke through on goal but was fouled by last man Emre Asik who was given a straight red.
Gala played out the draw with ten men and will have the advantage when they next face Hamburg at home.
Michael Beauchamp also played the full shift as his Danish club Aab played away to Manchester City. Felipe Caicedo and Shaun Wright-Phillips both scored in the first half for City and Beauchamp blocked another City chance in the second half when he stuck out his leg to prevent Robinho feeding Sean Wright-Phillips
Aab couldn't penetrate at the other end however and Aab will carry a 2-0 deficit into the second leg.
On Wednesday night Mark Schwarzer's Fulham faced Blackburn but fellow Socceroo Vinnie Grella missed the match for Blackburn due to a groin injury.
Fulham took the lead after 90 seconds through a long ball from Schwarzer that was tapped on to Clint Dempsey to score. Early in the second half Rover's Stephen Warnock took a ball on the chest and sent a powerful volley goalwards but Schwarzer tipped the shot away at full stretch.
Blackburn equalised in the 69th minute through a dubious goal to El -Hadji Diouf who appeared to be in an offside position when he received the ball and they completed a comeback with a second goal five minutes from the end.
Schwarzer earned plaudits from Rovers boss Sam Allardyce:
''Diouf got us back in the game with his goal and then Jason Roberts scored a great goal to win it for us.
''In between that we've had Mark Schwarzer pulling off some great saves, which in the end showed we might have won it even more comfortably.''
Nick Carle returned from suspension for Crystal Palace in the Championship. He came off the bench in the 53rd minute but it was a tough finish for Palace after being 2-1 up with eight minutes to go they lost the match 4-2.
Aaron Downes played the full shift for Chesterfield in their 2-1 win over Grimsby Town in League Two and Milan Susak played the full shift in Germany's 3rd Division for Unterhaching in their 2-1 loss to Stuttgarter Kickers.
