The 23-year-old Fawkner leftback will hook up with a group of uncontracted players from around the world at an Italian sports retreat in Vicenza, northern Italy.

There they'll play around six practice matches during July against a number of Italian Serie clubs who use the resort as a pre-season base. The clubs include Fiorentina, Lazio, Cagliari and Verona.

Playing against the uncontracted group in friendly matches provides a chance to shine for players looking to secure a contract while giving the Serie A clubs match fitness during their pre-season preparations.

"It'll be pretty interesting," Napoli told au.fourfourtwo.com. "Obviously everyone will want to win a contact so I'm not sure how much teamwork there'll be in the games!

"But it's a great chance for me. It's hard, with the A-League there are only limited opportunities so I'm lucky. And even if things don't work out, I'm sure it'll be an adventure."

The opportunity came along through Napoli staying in touch with a contact at a management company in Italy who he met three years ago. The offer came along recently and he was delighted to take up the offer.

Napoli has played around 40 VPL games for Fawkner and Sunshine George Cross in his career.
