AZ Alkmaar are weighing a move for Blackburn defender Andre Ooijer, but are wary of upsetting the balance of a squad which finished the first half of the season top of the Eredivisie.
Holland international Ooijer, 34, has been a regular for Blackburn this season, but AZ believe he could be tempted by a return to his homeland.
However, technical director Marcel Brands admitted they would first need to work out how he would fit in the squad before seeking a deal.
"From a footballing perspective we would like to sign him for the club," Brands told Voetbal International.
"But the problem is that you don't sign Andre for the bench, so then you must put another player on the bench.
"Maybe that would result in disruption rather than calm."
