DUTCH leaders AZ Alkmaar have been fined 25,000 euros by the Dutch FA as punishment for using a non-licensed agent in the transfer saga of striker Afonso Alves.
Alves eventually moved to English side Middlesbrough from Heerenveen despite agreeing in principle to join AZ in last season's winter break.
The arbitrary committee of the KNVB ruled that in that agreement an agent did not have the right paperwork, making the contract invalid.
