Hertha Berlin have signed Croatia midfielder Marko Babic on a free transfer from Spanish side Real Betis.
The 27-year-old, who was a shock omission from Slaven Bilic's squad for Euro 2008, has signed a contract until the end of the season.
Babic has played in the Bundesliga before, with Bayer Leverkusen, whom he left to join Betis in 2007.
"We are pleased that in Marko Babic we have been able to sign a player who is known in the Bundesliga from his successful spell with Bayer Leverkusen and brings a lot of experience," Hertha general manager Dieter Hoeness told the club's official website.
Babic added: "I am looking forward to the challenge at Hertha and the return to the Bundesliga."
