It has not been a great couple of weeks for the Spanish giants, who succumbed to a 2-0 loss at Milan in the first leg of their last-16 Champions League tie, before suffering a pair of defeats to Real Madrid.

Despite talk of a mini-crisis at Camp Nou, Rosell was keen to play down the slump.

"I want to convey calm," the 48-year old reporters.

"Efforts are underway to restore the tension and freshness. I thought the reaction was a bit exaggerated.

"We are well placed in La Liga, we will try to get past Milan but if not, it's not the end of the world."

Rosell is still hoping his club can land the services of Brazil star Neymar, who has been repeatedly linked with a move to the Camp Nou outfit.

He added: "It's a player our scouts and coaches like. He's on our list of possible transfers."

Rosell also offered his backing to coach Tito Vilanova, who remains absent as he continues his recovery from undergoing cancer treatment last month.

Jordi Roura has filled the position while Vilanova has been away, but the club president is adamant this is only a temporary solution.

"I want to make very clear that the board endorses Tito as our coach," said Rosell. "Tito is the coach no matter what happens. Our priority is for Tito to recover.

"I want to thank Roura his work, he is a hero for taking the responsibility."

Rosell conceded Barcelona were missing their coach, but stressed he is not about to make any rash decisions about the direction of the team.

He added: "I do not think that after 2 or 3 bad games our players and coaches should be put into question."
