The treble winners have already made an offer for Villa but reports suggest it is significantly less than the 50million euros Valencia are demanding.

And Laporta has revealed they will turn their attention elsewhere if Los Che refuse to back down.

"We're not going to spare no expense," he said. "We will do the touch ups that we have to but we have to bring in the players that interest us in reasonable conditions.

"Villa is a player who could interest us in certain conditions but if those aren't met, we have to activate other equally valid options and evaluate which of those are more fitting to the conditions we are interested in."

While arch rivals Real Madrid have already splashed out over 200million euros on Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Karim Benzema and Raul Albiol, things have been much quieter at the Nou Camp where Barca have yet to bring in any reinforcements.
