BRAZILIAN defender Henrique has bid farewell to his Palmeiras team-mates before he travels to Spain on Sunday to complete his move to Barcelona.
The 21-year-old, whose full name is Henrique Adriano Buss, has joined the La Liga giants on a five-year contract for 10 million euros, bringing to an end a six-month spell at Palmeiras.
"I want to thank the fans," said Henrique. "Even though I am young, they were patient during the time I've been playing here.
"I came to Palmeiras hopeful that I would stay for a long time, but the career of a footballer is full of many surprises. Palmeiras are a good team and I'm sure they will fight for the title."
Barcelona will reportedly send Henrique on loan to Bayer Leverkusen so that he can gain experience in European football before returning to the Nou Camp.
Having made 26 appearances for Palmeiras and scoring one goal, Henrique won his first senior cap last month as Brazil lost 2-0 to Venezuela in Boston.
