The Catalan giants completed a remarkable 2008/2009 campaign under rookie coach Pep Guardiola with the Copa del Rey, Primera Division and Champions League titles.

But Laporta revealed to www.fcbarcelona.cat today that the club would not be resting on their laurels.

He said: "There are three or four names to fill top-level positions that the technical staff want to strengthen."

Samuel Eto'o was initially told last summer he was surplus to Guardiola's requirements, but went on to play a crucial role in the glorious season.

The Cameroon striker is once again in the spotlight now, with reports suggesting he could be allowed to leave the Nou Camp.

Laporta expects the 28-year-old's future to be sorted next week.

He said: "We want to know the plans. This is a player who has given us everything, and I do not mean just his goals but also his attitude and his character.

"In the key matches he has delivered for us and we will always be grateful.

"There are offers for him. Next week we plan to meet with his representative. We need to know the thoughts of the player, the sporting director Txiki Begiristain and also the coach Josep Guardiola."
