Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp has revealed he is set to sign Lyon striker Milan Baros on loan on Monday.
Pompey have goalscoring trio Kanu, John Utaka and Sulley Muntari - and also Papa Bouba Diop - at the African Nations Cup and with striker David Nugent sustaining a groin injury in today's 2-1 FA Cup fourth round victory over Plymouth Redknapp has few other options.
Baros had been widely linked with a return to England with the south coast club and the Pompey boss intends to give the former Liverpool and Aston Villa striker a debut in Wednesday's Barclays Premier League match against Manchester United.
"With the four boys at the African Nations Cup we are now down to one striker in Benjani Mwaruwari and we need Baros," said Redknapp.
"He will be available for Wednesday."
