Argentina coach Alfio Basile has confirmed he will not call up Carlos Tevez for the World Cup qualifier against Brazil as he wants the Manchester United forward to rest after a long season.
Tevez, who is banned for the June 15 qualifier against Ecuador after being sent off against Colombia last year, would be available to face Brazil on June 18 in Belo Horizonte.
However, Basile has decided the 24-year-old needs some time to relax after only finishing his club campaign with the Champions League final victory over Chelsea on May 21 in Moscow.
He said: "He deserves some holidays. He has played a lot recently and he should rest."
