The winger picked up a minor muscle tear in the international friendly between Netherlands and Germany on Wednesday - after only recently returning to action after a back problem - and will sit out at least the next two games.

"He will not be available for tomorrow's game, and won't feature against Valencia (in the Champions League) either," Heynckes said.

It is not yet exactly known how long Robben will be sidelined due to the knock, but Bayern are hopeful he will be back in time for next week's home match versus Hannover.

The Dutchman has made only five Bundesliga appearances so far this term due to his ongoing injury worries.

Looking ahead to the clash against Nuremberg, Heynckes is expecting a tough encounter for his high-flying team.

League leaders Bayern have lost just once this season, and are already 19 points ahead of their local rivals.

But despite the difference on the table, Heynckes is expecting Nuremberg to put up a stern challenge in front of their home fans.

"I saw Nuremberg's last game. In one half they played very well, they did a lot of running, had a good fighting spirit and their defence was good," he said.

"As everyone knows, in a derby against us they will do even more. They're in a difficult situation in the league, but against Bayern they will show huge commitment.

"Bayern's record is really good against Nuremberg. So I hope we carry on the way we have in the league so far."
