Italy striker Luca Toni grabbed his seventh and eighth goals of what is turning into an extremely prolific season either side of a Ze Roberto effort five minutes before the break.

Nurnberg had few opportunities at the Allianz Arena as Ottmar Hitzfeld's unbeaten side cruised to their seventh win in nine Bundesliga games.

Nurnberg keeper Jaromir Blazek had a busy afternoon with his first save coming after 16 minutes as he parried Ze Roberto's close-range shot.

His next involvement was to keep out a weak effort from Bayern centre-half Lucio.

Blazek was beaten after 27 minutes by Bastian Schweinsteiger but the Germany international was unable to keep his effort down and his lob drifted over the top.

Martin Demichelis then headed inches over as Bayern continued to dominate.

It seemed just a matter of time before the deadlock was broken and so it proved as Toni struck after 32 minutes, the former Fiorentina striker lashing high into the net from close range.

Bayern increased their advantage eight minutes later, Brazilian Ze Roberto drilling home from 20 yards.

The second period was just as one-sided with Bayern pouring forward in wave after wave of attacks.

Toni had an effort blocked while Blazek had to be alert to punch clear an Andreas Ottl shot.

Zvjezdan Misimovic did threaten on a rare Nurnberg counter-attack but his header drifted wide.

And Bayern grabbed their third with nine minutes remaining as Toni headed home to seal a comfortable win.
