Sosa travelled to Germany on Monday to tie up the loose ends of his protracted move from Estudiantes and Bayern announced on their website that a conclusion had been reached.

A statement read: "Jose Ernesto Sosa will be a Bayern player from July 1.

"The 21-year-old has signed a four-year deal which will run until June 30, 2011."

Sosa has passed a medical during his trip to Bavaria having already agreed terms on his contract.

The transfer fee, which was the subject of a row between the two clubs, has not been disclosed.

Sosa said: "I am lucky to have finally signed for FC Bayern. It is a dream for every player.

"Bayern is one of the best clubs in the world."

Sosa heads back to Argentina on Wednesday to link up with the national team for the first time for a training camp.

Next season he will be expected to fill the void left by Sebastian Deisler's retirement due to persistent knee problems.

He is Bayern's third acquisition for next season, following in the footsteps of Jan Schlaudraff, who has agreed to join from Alemannia Aachen, and Hamit Altintop, who will move to Bayern from Schalke.
