Schalke are finally going to break their duck and win the Bundesliga, according to Bayern Munich president Franz Beckenbauer.
Fourth-placed Bayern and third-placed Stuttgart both suffered defeats on Saturday and Beckenbauer believes only Werder Bremen are now able to catch the Royal Blues.
"After Stuttgart and Bayern dropped out of the contest, I think there is now a duel for the title which will go on until the final day," he said in his weekly column in Germany's Bild newspaper.
"It will be a photo finish, but one thing is clear: both teams would be worthy winners."
Bayern have the chance to hold up the leaders when they face Schalke after the international break, but even that will not be enough to stop them, according to Beckenbauer.
He said: "Although Mirko Slomka's lads will lose to Bayern in 10 days, and although Bremen won't lose any more games, I fear that Werder will come a cropper on the last day of the season in Wolfsburg."
