DAVID Beckham is set for a third return to Australia for yet another showpiece friendly with LA Galaxy against an A-League side - but organisers have yet to finalise who the local club will be.
Reports this morning that a deal has been signed with Melbourne Victory to play the glamour MLS side are premature, au.fourfourtwo.com understands.
Both Victory and Sydney FC are still in the running for the November clash, with ANZ Stadium the likely venue to host a game in NSW while AAMI Park would probably host the Melbourne clash.
Either of the potential games could be a mouthwatering spectacle with Galaxy eager to recover from their 5-3 defeat against the Sky Blues in front of 80,000 fans on their first trip Down Under in 2007.
They lost again when they played Newcastle Jets last year, going down 2-1 before a crowd of almost 24,000.
But the possible match up of Victory marquee target Harry Kewell and Beckham could be a blockbuster fixture.
Despite the massive Melbourne crowd potential, organisers are understood to want to play the tie at AAMI Park to capture all the atmosphere of playing at the boutique football stadium rather than nearby Etihad Stadium.
As well as Beckham, Galaxy will also likely bring new recruit Robbie Keane who recently joined the club from Spurs.
