David Beckham has hailed Harry Redknapp a 'great manager' with the Tottenham boss still favoured to take the England job.
The Los Angeles Galaxy star trained under Redknapp at White Hart Lane early last year in preparation for the 2011 Major League Soccer season.
Redknapp remains favourite to take the England position after Italian manager Fabio Capello resigned on February 8.
Beckham, who revealed he would consider owning an MLS franchise at the end of his career, was full of praise for Redknapp after Galaxy training on Thursday.
"Harry's a great man, a great manager. His man management is incredible," Beckham said.
"I obviously know players who have played under him. I've trained under him, and he's obviously not just a great manager, but a great person as well."
Capello's resignation left England without a manager just four months out from the start of Euro 2012, which begins in Poland and Ukraine on June 8.
Beckham said he was shocked by the former Roma, Juventus and Inter Milan coach's decision, but urged England to move on ahead of the championships.
"Obviously, I was (surprised) because it's the European championships coming up. After working with Fabio for quite a few years, it's sad that he's stepped down at a critical stage for England, but he's done it for his own reasons," the 115-time England international said.
"He's a manager that I respect a lot and a person that I respect a lot, and I would wish him all the best, but now as a nation we need to come together and concentrate on firstly getting a new manager and then going into these European championships."
England are in Group D for the tournament, drawn alongside France, Sweden and Ukraine.
