Aziz Behich believes the world is noticing the Socceroos because of coach Bert van Marwijk.
The Socceroos will face Peru in their final game of the group stages in Russia 2018 at midnight (AEST) and need to win to make the second round.
Many Australian fans felt the squad was unlucky to reach the round of 16 before the tournament, but Behich insists confidence is still sky high in the team.
Behich feels the world is taking notice of the Socceroos after the way they took it to France and Denmark.
“They’re definitely noticing, with the way we’ve been playing and pressing teams and the possession football that Bert has us playing from the first camp he’s come in,” Behich told FourFourTwo.

“We’re lucky to have him and his team and what they’ve implemented in a short period of time into us is not easy to do in a team.
“We bought into what they wanted to do and it’s showing on the pitch the way we’re playing football.
“We had total control of the Denmark game and that’s what makes it hard to take in. Having that much control and not getting all three points, it’s a big positive and we built on the France performance and hopefully going into the game against Peru.”
Behich said he was playing “gutsy football” at this World Cup and feels his performances have been consistent in Russia.
Australia need France to beat Denmark, however Behich said all the focus was on Peru.
“Going from the last game, they’re a good team and they break fast,” he said.
“They have good quality up front, we’ve got to focus on ourselves, play the football we showed in the first game and against Denmark.
“When we conceded the goal, from then on, the football we showed was different class and we just need to build on that.”
