EXCLUSIVE: Mark Schwarzer remains in the dark over whether he will be required to pull on his gloves for Olyroo duty in August.
There is growing speculation that the Socceroos keeper could be drafted into the Beijing squad with Danny Vukovic expected to miss out through his ban.
Schwarzer himself is treading a non-commital path and on his return from duty with the senior side in Qatar, has maintained that stance.
He told au.fourfourtwo.com: "We'll have to wait and see. I really don't know. I haven't spoken to anyone about it.
"At the moment it's purely speculation."
Tando Velpahi has been Vukovic's back-up through Olympic qualifying so far with Adam Federici and Dean Bouzanis also options for Graham Arnold.
Arnold is not in a state of panic over his goalkeeping options though should Vukovic definitely be ruled out.
He said: "I've still got Adam Federici who's under-age to come in, so I'm pretty happy in the goalkeeping department but it's good to know that if need be I can fall back on Mark Schwarzer."
